Are you an IT security professional?
If so, you might be interested in helping CompTIA develop the next version of their CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) Certification exam.
There is an exam workshop for the CASP exam to be held outside Chicago (CompTIA headquarters) in early August. Highly experienced technical subject matter experts in security are needed for this workshop, where the cut score will be set for the new CASP exam and some exam questions will be written. See this web page for more information and to submit your resume/application if you think you are qualified. These workshops are a great opportunity to network with peers, and discuss matters of common professional interest.
CASP Cut Score Workshop
The cut score workshop is scheduled August 4th-8th, 2014, at CompTIA Headquarters. 3500 Lacey Rd, Suite 100, Downers Grove, IL 60515. (Downers Grove is a suburb of Chicago).
The purpose of a Cut Score Workshop is to set the passing standard for the certification exam and to help create items for the exam.
CASP SMEs Needed
Assistance from subject matter experts (SMEs) is crucial in providing an industry relevant exam. Potential SMEs must be IT professionals with at least 5 years current experience working in enterprise level technical security management. It is preferred that SMEs are CompTIA Security+ certified or have equivalent/higher experience.
SMEs will receive a $300 a day stipend for the 5-day workshop, as well as meals provided during the 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. working days. Recognition for SMEs includes listing on the CompTIA website pending full participation in the program.
You can apply to become a CompTIA Subject Matter Expert here. If you have questions about the application process, email examdev@comptia.org.
Even if you’re not a subject matter expert on CASP topics, you can still apply to be a subject matter expert for other exams such as A+, Network+, or Security+.
