About Get Certified Get Ahead
Hello. I created this site as a reference for people that wanted to get certified and get ahead in their career. It started from my original CompTIA Security+: Get Certified Get Ahead study guide for exam SY0-201 and it has grown from there.
If you want specific information on certifications or more information about Darril Gibson, check out the main Get Certified Get Ahead site or Darril Gibson’s main page.
If you’re using any of the books that I’ve written or helped others write, I would love to hear from you. I especially enjoy hearing from people that have successfully passed a certification exam after using one of my books. You can send me a note from here.
Best of luck in all of your adventures,
Hi Darril,
I’m very much a newbie to the Network and Cyber Security world – my professional background was law, then IT business, and now I finally ave a Cyber Security/compliance role. Ultimately, I want a technical career path where I end up a CyberSecurity Manager or a Cybercrime Forensics specialist. I want very much to gain the Security+ certification and have been studying using your book – I love the practice questions and concise, clear descriptions of the terms, but I have no hands-on Network experience. Should I start with A+ and Network+ to gain that understanding and then move onto the Security+ cert? Thanks for any advice.
Happy New Year. Sorry, but I don’t want to rush this. I’m curious. What is it that you value or like about the Kindle version?
A couple of reasons,
1. I move around quite a lot; so having an option to access and read it on my iPad kindle app is preferred over having to haul my books along with me.
2. I live in India at the moment; the cost for getting the book shipped here is pretty much close to the price of the book itself.
Hope that helps.
BTW – when is the kindle version version planned for release? Feb end?

Thanks. I expect it out sometime in February but don’t have a firm date.
Darril,
I hope you’ll get the kindle version of the 301 study guide fast tracked. Thanks much.

Just curious if you have a .pdf version (Adobe) version of your books “Security + SYO-301 Study Guide” and “Practice Test Questions” on CD ? This would be handy to study anyplace at anytime.
Hi Walter,
Sorry but no PDF versions are available for any of the books and to keep costs down, I have not done any CDs with the books. However, there are several other alternatives.
A Kindle version of the CompTIA Security+: Get Certified Get Ahead- SY0-301 Practice Test Questions is available for only $9.99 and Amazon has created Kindle applications for just about any platform giving you access to them anyplace anytime. You can get it here: http://amzn.to/ueLIjm.
This book is also available for free via the Kindle Lending Library for Kindle Owners that have Amazon Prime. You can read about this program here: http://amzn.to/rXmMca
If you’d like SY0-301 Security+ practice test questions on mobile devices within a test engine, they are available on the Apple AppStore http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/id482991132?mt=8, on the Android marketplace https://market.android.com/details?id=com.learnzapp.securityplus, and the Amazon AppStore http://amzn.to/sSaIm0. A version is currently being developed for the Nook.
Of course, paper copies of the SY0-301 practice test questions (http://amzn.to/tp4SLX) and the SY0-301 study Guide (http://amzn.to/w3jwV2) are also available at very reasonable prices, and you can take these anywhere, anytime.
A Kindle version of the SY0-201 Security+ study guide is available here http://amzn.to/sRQBnY and a Kindle version of the SY0-301 study guide will be available within a couple of months. Also, we’re working on audio files for the SY0-301 book to help people master this material.
HTH and best of luck in your studies,
Darril Gibson
