CompTIA has announced the release of new A+ exams.

These exams have been in the works for many months so it’s not a surprise to many people. However, for some people that check the CompTIA A+ page and see the new details, they might be surprised. The new exams are:

  • CompTIA A+ 220-801
  • CompTIA A+ 220-802
You can read about some of the details about these exams here.

The current exams (220-701 and 220-702) will remain available until August 31, 2013.

You’ll have a maximum of 90 questions on each of the 801/802 exams and you’ll have 90 minutes to complete them. The difference is that the 801/802 exams will include performance based questions. CompTIA has recently posted a video on this page that gives some more details about performance based questions.

The CompTIA A+ Training Kit (Exam 220-801 and Exam 220-802) covers all of the objectives of these A+ exams and can help you prepare so that you’ll pass the exam the first time you take it.

Good luck.
